Announcing a re-opening of Proposals for Apprenticeship Programs

The South Carolina Technical College System and the South Carolina Department of Commerce are jointly re-opening a solicitation for proposals from applicants who wish to sponsor apprenticeship programs.  A soliciation for proposals for apprenticeship programs was originally posted in November of 2007.   The current solicitation re-opening announcement and guidelines, application form and FAQs are available for download below.

Announcing a Request for Proposals for Youth Services

The South Carolina Department of Commerce is pleased to announce that $1,000,000 has been allocated by the State Workforce Investment Board to support programs providing comprehensive services for at-risk youth.  The Board seeks to reengage vulnerable adolescents and young adults through programs that reconnect them to high quality educational and employment options so that they may attain a GED or high school diploma and continue on to post-secondary education or jobs with career potential.

Local education agencies, public agencies, technical colleges, for-profit entities, non-profit community- and faith-based organizations, and partnerships of the aforementioned are eligible to apply for funding.  Proposals are due at the Department of Commerce no later than June 20th, 2008.
